The Genesis has returned, after a hiatus of 10 years. It retains the original 44mm case of surgical-grade 316L stainless steel, but is subtly redesigned.

The black classic dial in sandwich construction, with hour indices, dot minute markers and a cleverly designed date window, shines like a torch in the dark, thanks to the generous application of Swiss Super-LumiNova of the highest grade. Inspired by a rare military prototype said to be from the 1950s, the dial design has since become Gruppo Gamma's signature.

The timepiece is powered by the venerable Sellita SW200-1 Swiss automatic movement, and is water resistant to 200m/ 660ft.

This Genesis variant is fitted with the Sellita SW200-1. Sellita, a Swiss manufacturer of mechanical watch movements based in La Chaux-de-Fonds, was a major assembly partner for ETA from 1950 to 2003 that transitioned into an independent manufacturer when ETA stopped supplying its movements to watch brands outside the Swatch group.

The Genesis 2026 is crowned by a prominent box-shaped, domed sapphire crystal, faithfully echoing the distinctive Plexiglas crystals of the military dive watches once issued to elite naval frogmen. While offering the clarity and scratch resistance of modern sapphire, it preserves the unmistakable vintage character of the originals.
