Our brand

Gruppo Gamma began in 2013 with a single conviction: that a tool watch should be exactly that - a tool. Unadorned, purposeful, built to endure. The brand launched quietly, and found its audience among collectors who valued function over fashion.

Our brand name was inspired by the Italian frogmen unit of the same code name, the first modern naval diver unit put to action in 1940. The divers of this elite force were issued timekeeping instruments repurposed from pocket watches, worn on the wrist using leather straps.

We've reimagined the instruments from that bygone era for modern wrists.

The philosophy of the tool watch

Every Gruppo Gamma watch is designed around a single question: does this serve the wearer? Decoration that does not function is removed. Proportions are dictated by legibility. Case geometry follows the wrist, not the trend cycle.

The result is a collection of watches that age well precisely because they were never designed to be fashionable. Watches that reimagine the tool watch for modern wear, preserve old-school character without compromise, and distil the form to its simplest, most enduring expression.

Built in Singapore for the world

We design and assemble the watches in Singapore, for enthusiasts worldwide. Our references draw from the visual language of mid-century military and field watches - the broad bezels, legible dials and utilitarian proportions that defined an era of instrument-grade timekeeping - and reinterpret them without apology or irony.

This is not vintage revival. It is vintage logic applied to contemporary standards.

Materials & craft

We work with 316L stainless steel and CuSn8 bronze, the grades used in surgical instruments and marine hardware for their corrosion resistance and long-term structural integrity. Cases are finished to tolerances that reward close inspection.

Movements are sourced from Switzerland and Japan - calibres selected for their reliability, serviceability and proven track record. Crystals are sapphire and AR-coated, for scratch resistance and optical clarity.

Nothing is specified for specification's sake. Every material decision has a reason.

Independent by design

Gruppo Gamma has no parent group, no external investors, and no obligation to volume. We make watches for people who wear them, not for people who collect them as assets. Our production runs are limited not as a marketing device, but because quality at scale is a different product entirely.

We answer to our customers and to the work. That is the only brief that matters.
